Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, said Wednesday in Luanda that Angola needs more transport infrastructure to ensure that raw materials and finished products reach the population in good condition.
Speaking on the sidelines of a visit to the Kikuxi production plant, the minister stressed that the country also needs more warehouses and storage areas and that the entry into operation of number of companies in the manufacturing sector is planned for the first quarter of 2026.
Regarding the visit, he considered it a way to close 2025, “which was a very demanding year for everyone, but above all with positive responses from the business community, investors, particularly national ones, as is the case with this unit”.
According to the minister, with the work being carried out, there will be conditions for the country to be on the path to food autonomy and sovereignty by 2026.
He highlighted the fact that the food manufacturing sector, up to the third quarter of 2025, had grown around 12.13%.
“It’s a very positive note, but it also brings additional opportunities for other sectors of the economy, because what we want to see happen, naturally from the transformation and investments of this magnitude, is that they can bring other operators and create other opportunities,” he added.
The minister reaffirmed the Angolan government’s commitment to continue supporting national producers and investors who are betting on Angola, ensuring that the government maintains a firm and available stance to help overcome difficulties whenever they are within its reach.
Built on a total area of 51 hectares, the unit has factories for pasta and beverages, wheat flour, an oil refinery and dairy products, among other products.
