Africa-Press – Angola. The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Inspection Service (SNFPA) sent two artisanal fishing operators to the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) on Wednesday in Luanda for disobeying inspection authorities and throwing a stone at a maritime inspection vessel.
In a note sent today the SNFPA clarifies that it concerns the arrest of the captain and the manager of a vessel that had on board one of the sailors who recently threw a stone at the security vessel, an object that hit the deck of the inspection boat and narrowly missed an inspector as well.
According to the document, the incident occurred during an act of counseling and awareness-raising to the crew members of the artisanal fishing vessel.
Subsequently, one of the sailors on this boat became annoyed and threw a stone at the inspection team and fled, since December 27, 2025.
Following this, the SNFPA, through the Luanda Regional Center, took the necessary steps to locate and subsequently seize the vessel and its crew members, an action that was carried out on Luanda Island.
With this, the statement continues, the procedure for seizing and moving the boat to Cacuaco Bay, where it was anchored, began, an action that counted on the collaboration of the Armed Border Guard Police.
This Wednesday, the activity of unloading the fish began and the subsequent referral of the vessel’s master and manager to the SIC-Porto, with a view to a better investigation into the matter of the stone throwing.
