Africa-Press – Angola. National Assembly (AN) participates, since Wednesday (21), in the 79th Session of the Executive Committee of the African Parliamentary Union (UPA), taking place in Lomé, capital of Togo.
The Angolan parliament is represented, at the meeting due to take place until Thursday (21), by the President of the National Monitoring Group of African Parliamentary Organisations, deputy Manuel Augusto.
The Review of the 2022 Accounts, the Analysis of compliance with the Decisions and Recommendations of the last Assembly, as well as the preparation of the 45th Conference of the UPA, scheduled for the last quarter of the current year, are the main points on the agenda submitted to the Deputies.
Headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the PAU is an institution that encompasses several African Parliaments, and has the status of an associate of the African Union (AU), different from the Pan African Parliament (PAP) which is an integral part of that continental organization.
The Republic of Angola hosted the 2005 PAU Summit, which is currently under the Zimbabwean presidency.
