The Permanent Mission of Angola to the Offices of the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, Switzerland, is one of the participants in the commemoration of the Portuguese Language Day, in its 5th edition, which takes place on Friday, in this city, under the motto “flavors of the CPLP”.
Angola, which currently presides over the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), as part of the organization’s rotating presidency, took over the coordination of the event that will take place in one of the rooms of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and will count on the participation of Mozambique , Brazil, Cape Verde, Portugal, Timor-Leste and Equatorial Guinea.
Diplomats from the Permanent Mission of Angola to the UN, in Geneva, from the Embassy of Angola in the Swiss Confederation and Principality of Liechtenstein and representatives of the Angolan community residing in Switzerland participate in the event whose program encompasses the Angolan identity and culture, through the national gastronomy, music, dance and other socio-cultural manifestations.
The commemoration of Portuguese Language Day by the Permanent Missions, members of the CPLP, based in Geneva, usually takes place every year, with the exception of the year 2000, which was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
