Africa-Press – Angola. Sociologist Pimentel da Conceição Gonçalves highlighted, this Tuesday, in Dondo, (Cambambe), the Angolan Government’s commitment to promoting social justice, through the principles contained in the Constitution.
According to the sociologist, the Angolan constitution promotes social justice by guaranteeing citizens’ rights, freedoms and guarantees.
Pimentel da Conceição, who was speaking about World Social Justice Day, added that the Angolan constitution protects life and health and promotes education, as well as access to employment.
For the sociologist, social justice is a moral and political principle, which seeks to guarantee access to rights, provided for by law, correcting any inequality, illegality or disrespect.
He considered that despite the creation of policies that guarantee social justice, there are shortcomings in effective implementation.
He pointed to the decentralization of services as one of the mechanisms to guarantee social justice and improve the population’s quality of life.
He stated that balance in the enjoyment of social rights encourages the good conduct of citizens and the frustration that characterizes certain social groups, for peace in the world.
The World Day of Social Justice is celebrated on February 20th and was proclaimed by the United Nations ()UN, with the aim of recognizing that peace and security between States can only be achieved through social justice and development.
