Africa-Press – Angola. The film “Por Jade”, the feature film that won the third edition of the Unitel Angola Move Festival, will be shown on December 8th, at the “Lês 7 Batigonolles” cinema, in Paris.
Organized by the Angolan Cinema Movement (MOCA), in partnership with the film’s director, Tadisi Baruch, the international premiere features a cast of actors and members of the production team.
According to the director, the exhibition in Paris represents yet another achievement by the new generation of Angolan directors, who have sought to promote art and culture internationally through films.
Tadisi Baruch assured that he is currently waiting for the negotiation process to be finalized with theater owners interested in exhibiting Angolan history in other European countries.
The film’s message is to warn women about being careful when choosing a spouse from different cultures, teaching that there are certain habits and customs that must be known before getting married.
The film, said the author, also shows the Angolan woman capable of defending her children in the face of adverse cultures or rituals, and it is this shock environment in which the construction of the film’s heroine emerges.
The director explained that the film is not against other cultures, however, it raises a warning about how clashes of cultures can make life difficult for a couple.
The feature film was filmed in 2022, in Luanda, in the Mártires de Kifangondo neighborhood, and in the province of Namibe, specifically in the city of Tômbwa, in the desert, where the team stayed for a period of one week.
The cast features well-known faces such as actor Aureliano Quaresma, who passed on all his decades of acting experience to the new actors involved in the film.
