Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan President João Lourenço held a telephone conversation on Thursday evening with his counterpart from São Tomé and Príncipe, Carlos Vila Nova, during which they reviewed the state of bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to the Press Services of the Presidency of the Republic, during the dialogue, the two Heads of State addressed aspects related to strengthening cooperation in areas of common interest, within the framework of the historic relations of friendship and solidarity that unite Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe.
The conversation is part of the dynamic of regular consultations between the two leaders, with a view to deepening the existing political, economic and diplomatic partnerships between the two Portuguese-speaking states.
The friendly and cooperative relations between the two States are based on political, historical, cultural and geographical factors, formalized in 1978 through the General Cooperation Agreement and the Bilateral Joint Commission, created in 1980.
