Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan international Macachi Braz, on Sunday in Luanda, expressed his optimism about Angola’s qualification for the 2027 Basketball World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Qatar.

The center forward, who plays for Basket Coruña in Spain, arrived in Angola on Saturday and joined the national team’s training sessions. He stated that he found a dynamic group in good athletic form.

Macachi Braz acknowledged the level of difficulty of the competition, emphasizing that he had analyzed some games of the opposing teams and that the three opponents have qualities, but the goal of the national team is to secure qualification and continue to bring joy to Angolans.

He noted that the competition is healthy, with a high level of competitiveness among athletes, but his integration will occur without problems, as he is already familiar with the team’s structure and game principles.

He mentioned that it is important to stay focused and work to achieve the goal of reaching the World Cup.

Just like his teammate, Eduardo Francisco joined the national team’s training on Sunday and said there are no difficulties in “fitting in”, hoping to be among the 12 who will represent the country in the tournament.

He warned about the quality and robustness of the opponents, whom he considers strong and very good in the area of defence.

“We have to be humble and prepared, because against Angola everyone gives their best”, he emphasized.
