Africa-Press – Angola. The number of visitors to the Angolan stand at the Madrid International Tourism Fair (FITUR), Spain, seeking information about the “Angolan tourist destination,” demonstrates that the country has been attracting the attention of tourists from around the world, according to exhibitors.

This assessment was made on Thursday by Angolan tour operators who brought the country’s tourism potential to the Spanish market.

According to Yolanda Ferreira, representative of the company Secret Angola, which is participating in the exhibition for the first time, the stand has received many clients and operators, as well as agencies from Spain, who have already expressed interest in the products offered.

“We already have some partners that we had contacted previously and some that we will meet here at FITUR, and we are expecting that there will be more contacts and that we will establish more partnerships,” she emphasized.

She added that Secret Angola brought to the event programs that showcase the authenticity and diversity of the country, through the packages already prepared, as well as the client’s choice.

The representative of Amazing Travel Angola, Jose Luis Cabral, said that Angola’s participation in FITUR is a reflection of the efforts that the Executive is making to promote Angolan tourism abroad.

“This time we are looking at tourism with discerning eyes. Really, a good job is being done. There will always be challenges, we are not perfect, we still have a lot to sort out in our house, but I think we are on the right track and that things will move forward quickly,” he said.

Jose Cabral praised the measure to facilitate and waive visas for some countries, considering that it made the work of tour operators easier.

“It made our work easier overnight. It was the best thing that could have happened, the making of this decision, because, unfortunately, it was quite a big obstacle,” he stressed.

Cabral also said that his company brought a new product to the fair, in partnership with a Namibian company and CUIA, which is a trip being promoted between Namibia and Angola and vice versa with a truck prepared for tourists.

Raquel Oliveira, representative of Tours & Expeditions, said that being at FITUR is about showing Angola and making people see that it makes sense to visit it, as it is a country full of unforgettable landscapes, incredible people, wonderful food, but still little explored.

From their point of view, Angola is a country that is emerging and, therefore, tour operators are ready to welcome all the people who want to visit the country.

“We are very happy to be able to participate in this moment of growth in the sector, in the development of tourism in Angola, and it is a great pride to be able to represent the country here and show people around the world, and specifically here in the European market, how worthwhile it is to visit this wonderful country,” he emphasized.

FITUR, the world’s most influential international tourism fair, takes place at IFEMA Madrid from January 21 to 25, consolidating its position as the leading event for inbound and outbound tourism markets.
