Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan Yano Elias was left without a mark in the World Swimming Championships, taking place in the city of Doha, Qatar, after finishing within the deadline of the 5km event, in open waters.
According to the International Federation website (World Aquatic), the national distance runner appears last, without any mark and acronym in English (OTL), which means out of time limit.
This is the second time that the Clube 1o de Agosto swimmer has been without a mark, for finishing out of time, after the one recorded at the Fukuoka World Cup, in Japan, in 2023.
The race was won by the Frenchman Logan Fontaine, with a time of 51:29.30, the silver medal went to his compatriot Marc-Antoine Olivier, while the Italian Domenico Acerenza once again retained the bronze.
The last time recorded was by Georgia’s representative, Davit Sikharulidze, who crossed the finish line in 1h:04:52.10, in 72nd place.
The country is also involved in pure swimming, which includes swimmers Henrique Mascarenhas, who will compete in the 200 and 100m freestyle, on the 12th and 14th of this month.
In addition to Lia Lima, in the 100m and 200m butterfly, on the 11th and 14th of this month, and Nhara Fernandes, who will have a double shift, on the 17th, swimming the 50m freestyle and breaststroke, respectively.
