Africa-Press – Angola. The author of the novel “The Immigrant from the Web and its Tolices”, Eugénio Afonso Gaspar, whose artistic name is “Nituecheni Africano”, was selected to participate in the largest Literature Contest in Latin America to be held in Brazil, next January, competing with a Tanzanian and another South African, announced yesterday the director of the Provincial Office for Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports.

Jeremias Piedade dos Santos Chissanga considered that the participation of the young African writer Nituecheni, born in Huambo, in the biggest literature contest in the Best Novel category, with the work “O Imigrante da Web e sua Tolices”, presupposes a great gain and pride, not only for lovers of literary art and the inhabitants of the province, but also for the country.

He stressed that initiatives of this kind should be embraced and supported not only by the Government through legal institutions, but also by businessmen and individuals who love literature and not only, in order to raise Angolan culture to the highest level, and, in particular, the region.

For the young person to be in a position to represent, appropriately, the country and Huambo, in particular, we need to vote as many times as necessary through the contest website which will soon be available and through voting we can develop Angolan culture in the artistic-literary field”, explained the director of Culture in Huambo.

Nituecheni Africano told Jornal de Angola that the book “O Imigrante da Web e Suas Tolices” tells the story of a young African resident in Angola, with a degree in Computer Engineering and Telecommunications, who falls in love virtually on the social networks Facebook for a young Hispanic-Brazilian woman, who, in turn, invites him to live in Brazil and without further hesitation, the young man accepts the invitation and leaves for São Paulo, with the intention of rebuilding his life. he is faced with a reality, completely antagonistic to what he expected.

The author states that the motivation to write this book arises from a reflection made around the evolution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), showing society the imminent dangers of using social networks, their advantages and disadvantages, at a time in which we witness a high rate of cyber crimes from stories of, harassment, kidnapping, rape and suicide.

That’s why he advises people to use social networks cautiously and rationally, because many profiles are fake and behind them there are people in bad faith. “Never access invitations for meetings with unknown people from social networks”, he advised.

Nituecheni Africano considered that Angolan literature has been growing exponentially, he feels happy to be part of this new generation of contemporary writers who have done a lot to encourage and sensitize young people to adhere to the habit and culture of reading in order to increase the production of literary works in the province of Huambo.

He stressed that this is only possible with the support of the Government, the business sector and natural persons because in relation to the edition and printing of books, writers in Angola face many difficulties, due to the high cost of production.

With the literary pseudonym Eugénio Afonso Gaspar, Nituecheni Africano, born on September 12, 1990, in the province of Huambo, is the author of three literary works, namely “O Prisoneiro do Amor”, “O Vendor de Pães As Mos”, and “O Imigrante da Web e Suas Tolices”, the latter launched last October, at Jardim da Cultura, in the city of Huambo.
