Africa-Press – Angola. The largest technological showcase in the country returned yesterday, in Luanda, at the Talatona Convention Center, after being paralyzed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event, which brings together more than 60 companies and 21 countries, has 109 speakers and moderators who will be discussing the different topics covered during the three days.
In addition to national experts, there will be speakers and moderators from Japan, United Kingdom, Brazil, Nigeria, Lesotho, South Africa, United States of America, Canada, Spain, Serbia, Uganda, France, Namibia, Portugal, Zambia, Côte d’Ivoire , Sweden, Argentina, Ethiopia, Malawi and São Tomé.
The event, whose motto is “Connectivity and Technological Modernization”, will bring together more than 100 startups, the best of which should receive a prize of one million kwanzas, in addition to qualifying for credit from 100 to 7,000,000 kwanzas.
The event began in 2018, and at the time, 21 plenary and parallel sessions were held, with 98 speakers (of which 33 were international guests) and 16 moderators.
In its first edition, more than 4,480 people attended the parallel discussions, held in the morning and afternoon, with an average of 150 participants per room.
The event also showed that, despite a certain technological advance in recent years and the emergence of new players, startups and young entrepreneurs, Angola still needs to be more open in the adherence to new technologies and follow the evolution of the market.
At ANGOTIC 2019, 150 speakers and moderators participated, as well as representatives of public and private companies in the telecommunications, information technology, meteorology and postal services sectors, among others.
The event, which served as a knowledge sharing and networking center for government entities, industry players and emerging mobile service providers, brought together over 8,000 individuals from various sectors and extracts.
Lasting three days, it takes place under the motto “Connectivity and Technological Modernization”, addressing topics on the “Space industry and trends”, “Business model for space technology”, “Metaverse to revolutionize the future of entertainment, content and commerce”, “Connectivity and technological modernization”.
ANGOTIC 2023 is a global event on information and communication technologies, held and promoted by the Government of Angola, through the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication.
ANGOTIC 2023 aims to promote debate around current, global and future issues of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), sharing knowledge and facilitating networking for government entities, exhibitors and specialists, presenting innovations, as well as trends of sector.
