Africa-Press – Angola. Eight male athletes will represent the province of Lunda Norte in the 66th edition of the pedestrian race “São Silvestre”, taking place on the 31st of this month, in Luanda.
The information was provided today, Friday, in Dundo, by the president of the Provincial Athletics Association in Lunda Norte, Alex Paulo, stressing that of the eight long-distance runners, six are from Sagrada Esperança and two are individual.
He informed that the representatives of Lunda Norte began their preparation at the beginning of the current year to achieve positive results in this edition.
“We have a well-prepared athlete with a lot of experience in this competition and who in the 61st edition won second place, in the veterans’ class”, he stressed.

The federated long distance runner, Paulino Chitambala, one of the representatives of the province in the end-of-year race, won, Thursday, a tournament organized by Sagrada Esperança, within the scope of the festivities of his 46th birthday, marked on the 22nd of this month.
The athlete covered 8 kilometers in 17 minutes and 42 seconds, followed by Pedro René, with 18′, and João Nelito, with 19′.
Without competition, the athlete Marta Lutumba, with a time of 32′, won the race in women’s category.
The race had the participation of 40 elements, between federations and the general public, in the male and female classes, in an 8 kilometer course, on an open circuit.
