Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Investments Bank (BAI) on Wednesday was recognized as the “Best Bank in Angola 2025” by the international monthly business and finance magazine Euromoney, in a ceremony held in London, United Kingdom (UK).
The aforementioned act recognizes BAI’s excellence in innovation, financial strength, digitalization, and commitment to inclusion and sustainability.
According to a statement from the bank, among the requirements that led to the Angolan banking institution’s distinction is its 100% digital personal loan, an important milestone on the path to more flexible and digital credit solutions.
The report notes that the election also reflects the BAI’s solid financial results, with a 26% growth in net interest income, 52% in net credit volume and a net profit of over 151 billion kwanzas, which for Euromoney, represents the institution’s responsiveness in a demanding macroeconomic context.
In the field of environmental sustainability, Euromoney praised BAI’s improvement of solar-powered service points, highlighting the ATMs in the neighbourhoods of São Paulo, Asa Branca and Mercado do 30, as part of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2015 environmental management systems certification process, which is a growing initiative resulting from the bank’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
During the awards ceremony, BAI’s CEO, Luís Lélis, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to serving the Angola with proximity, innovation and responsibility, as well as actively contributing to the country’s development and the well-being of families and businesses.
