Basic food basket prices vary by 0.71 percent in the third week of July in Luanda

Africa-Press – Angola. The prices of basic basket products from the second to the third week of July registered, in general terms, a slight reduction of 0.71 percent.

In commercial establishments, the price variation of basic food basket products from the second to the third week of July registered a reduction of 1.24 percent. The products that contributed to this price reduction were sugar with 3.53 percent, cornmeal with 3.29 percent and beef with 2.38 percent. On the other hand, the biggest price changes were registered in iodized salt products with 3.61 percent, ordinary rice with 2.50 percent and Pão Bola with 1.30 percent.

In the period in question, the largest price reductions were observed in supermarkets Fresmart with 8.35 percent, Angomart with 4.09 percent and Kero with 3.33 percent, on the other hand, the largest price changes were recorded Shoprite with 1.67 percent, Jumbo with 0.33 percent and Alimenta Angola with 0.12 percent. The prices of basic basket products in informal markets from the second to the third week of July registered a reduction of 0.08 percent.

The products that most contributed to this reduction were tomato with 7.57 percent, bombó and corn flour with 3.15 percent each. The smallest price changes in the period were registered in the markets of Katinton with 1.40 percent, Kifica with 1.14 percent and Kikolo with 0.74 percent. On the other hand, there was an increase in prices in Congolese with 1.82 percent, Kwanzas with 0.53 percent and Correios with 0.19 percent.
