Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan international Selton Miguel has signed a contract with Wasserman Basketball, one of the most prestigious player agencies in the US and the second-best in the world, according to Forbes magazine.

The announcement was made Wednesday (27) by Italian journalist Guido Guida, editor of Spicchi d’Arancia Basketball, who highlighted the importance of this transition for the future of the player, who graduated from 1o de Agosto (Angola).

The contract came after the National Team’s recent victory in “Afrobasket 2025,” where he contributed 10.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

The basketball player aims to play in the NBA, where his compatriot Bruno Fernando, currently playing for Spanish side Real Madrid, where he won the championship last season, has also played. Wasserman Basketball represents some of the biggest names in world basketball, including Alex Caruso and Lu Dort, both of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

It also represents Diana Taurasi (United States), Brook Lopez (Los Angeles Clippers), and Steven Adams (Houston Rockets), cementing its position as one of the most influential agencies in the sport. After

not being selected among the 59 players in this year’s draft on June 27th, the Angolan played the 2024-25 NBA Summer League season with the Utah Jazz in the United States.

Selton Miguel, 24, has represented the Portuguese club Sport Lisboa e Benfica (2014-2016), the South Florida Bulls (2023-24), and the Maryland Terrapins (2025), the latter of which is in the United States.

Wasserman represents basketball players, negotiates contracts, and is involved in event planning and marketing services for the sport, having worked with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and NBA teams.

The company acts as an agency representing basketball athletes, including player contracts and sponsorships, both male and female, helping them manage their careers.
