Africa-Press – Angola. The Provincial Office for Economic and Integrated Development of Bengo raised 104 million Kwanzas, during the year 2023, with the licensing of companies and manufacturing units in the mineral resources, manufacturing and commerce sectors.

According to the director of the office, Pedro Katendi, the sector that raised the most revenue was mineral resources with 94 million 950 thousand 762 Kwanzas.

In this sector, despite 64 companies being controlled, in 2023 only 28 operated and seven were licensed.

Inerts production was 958 thousand 949 cubic meters and sales amounted to 563 thousand 163 cubic meters.

In the manufacturing industry, 25 manufacturing units were licensed, 17 of which were new, and 939 thousand and 600 Kwanzas were raised.

In 2023, according to the official, the office received nine proposals for new projects that are intended to be installed in the reserve of the Mabubas industrial development hub.

In the year that ended, 499 other companies were also licensed, with the office collecting around eight million Kwanzas.

These companies (499) created 1,246 jobs, 994 for nationals and 252 for foreigners.

In 2024, he said, the cabinet has the challenge of attracting more investors and promoting the emergence of new commercial, industrial and mineral resource infrastructures that will create more jobs.

It is also planned to hold the second socio-economic forum and extend the initiative to all municipalities.

The provincial Office for Economic and Integrated Development also intends to hold the first edition of Expo Bengo and boost the effective implementation of the Mabubas industrial development hub.
