Bengo wins delegation from the Angolan Bar Association

Africa-Press – Angola. The province of Bengo has, since Friday, a delegation from the Angolan Bar Association, to facilitate the work of professionals in the area and citizens seeking legal assistance.

Inaugurated by the deputy governor of Bengo, José Bartolomeu, Bengo is the last province to have an OAA representation after the delegations of Malanje, Lunda Sul, Cunene, Cuanza Norte, Moxico, Uíge and Zaire, where there is a small number of lawyers.

The chairman of the order, Luís Paulo Monteiro, informed that the OAA has ten provincial councils, which are bodies that function above the delegations in regions with a greater number of lawyers.

The deputy governor of Bengo, José Bartolomeu, considered the Angolan Bar Association a partner of the State in terms of legal assistance for citizens and praised the opening of a delegation that will be a space where citizens can turn to when in need of legal assistance.

Bengo province has 23 lawyers and more than 20 interns.

In the national exam for access to law, Bengo had 22 candidates approved.

If they register in the province, the region will be able to count on almost 50 trainee lawyers, said the OAA delegate from Bengo, Bernardo João.

“It’s a good number, we would like it to increase and that these trainee lawyers quickly finish their training cycle and register definitively in the province of Bengo so that the region is full of lawyers because it needs it”, he argued.
