Africa-Press – Angola. Twenty citizens of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) were arrested on Wednesday by the Border Guard Police in the province of Zaire for attempting to enter the country illegally.
According to the spokesperson for the National Police in Zaire, Superintendent Luís Bernardo, in statements to the press today, the arrest of these illegal immigrants took place in the border commune of Luvo, in the municipality of Mbanza Kongo.
The group consists of 12 men and eight women, who after questioning were sent to the local directorate of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) for due treatment.Luís Bernardo said that the aforementioned citizens of this neighboring country intended to reach the country’s capital, Luanda, using clandestine routes.
Expatriates arrested for assaulting an Angolan on the high seas
Four citizens of Chinese and Vietnamese nationality were arrested on Thursday by the National Police in the municipality of Soyo for physically assaulting a national citizen on the high seas.
They are citizens Yu Yong, Giang, Dao Van Hwng, BI Zahan Xiang and Wang Hgwu, who brutally assaulted a 22-year-old Angolan while fishing in the seas of Soyo.
Employees of a fishing company called Seatag, based in the city of Soyo, Zaire, the accused, without apparent motive, attacked the young man (a work colleague) and damaged his cell phone.
The spokesman for the corporation explained that the four foreigners were detained after a complaint from the victim who sustained serious injuries to almost every part of his body.
The alleged perpetrators will be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the coming days for further action.
