Campaign for the issuance of children's and youth citizen's card launched in Uíge

Africa-Press – Angola. Three Unified Public Service Desks (BUAP) launched Monday, in the municipality of Uíge, the launch of a massive campaign to issue Citizens’ Cards for children and adolescents aged between six and 17 years.

The issuance of the document that replaces the Residence Certificate is part of the children’s and youth program and will be done at the Uíge Municipal Administration posts, in the Candombe Velho neighborhood and in the Quilumosso Centrality.

Speaking to the press, the municipal director of BUAP, Sebastião Manuel Aufico, said that, in order to obtain the Citizen’s Card, it is necessary to have an Identity Card (BI), a witness of the child or teenager, who may be a father, mother or a relative.

At the ceremony, the director of the National Children’s Institute (INAC) in Uíge, Rosária da Conceição Alfredo, said that the citizen’s card has replaced the certificate of residence, an initiative that will help children who do not have documents.

The BUAP, in the province of Uíge, were opened in September 2021, during the voter registration process, allowing those of legal age to issue a Citizen Card.
