Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, reaffirmed this Thursday in Luanda that “Angola firmly believes in parliamentary dialogue as an instrument for peacemaking”. Carolina Cerqueira made these statements at the opening of the 15th Plenary Assembly of the Parliamentary Forum of the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (PF-ICGLR), which runs until tomorrow (Friday) in the country’s capital.

“The National Assembly of Angola has promoted and will continue to support initiatives for mediation, cooperation and legislative harmonization among the member states of the ICGLR Region”, she stressed.

Carolina Cerqueira also stressed that the Great Lakes Region “has all the conditions to prosper”, judging by its natural resources, abundant land, vibrant youth, rich cultures and privileged geostrategic location.

The 15th Plenary Assembly of the Parliamentary Forum of the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region brings together more than a thousand delegates from the 12 member countries.
