Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of State for the Social Area, Carolina Cerqueira, said this Saturday, in Luanda, that the former President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, deserves all the honors of State.
Carolina Cerqueira, who was speaking at Praça da República where the tributes to José Eduardo dos Santos are taking place, highlighted that it was “a moment of great pain and consternation, but also of feeling that we are honoring a great leader, a great President”.
For his part, the Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, said that it was a moment when the Angolan people would be able to pay homage to José Eduardo dos Santos.
In Praça da República, the urn with the body of the former President is covered with the Angolan flag and was placed in a tent where it is surrounded by wreaths of flowers.
