Africa-Press – Angola. The Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer, highlighted, this Tuesday, in Luanda, the potential for the development of relations with Angola, in the most varied domains, despite the lack of momentum in recent years.
Speaking at a press conference at the Presidential Palace, after a private meeting with the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, as part of his 48-hour visit to the country, the Austrian Government official highlighted the importance of placing the continent at the center of your attentions.
For this reason, according to Karl Nehammer, the Austrian Government is developing a strategy for Africa, paying greater attention.
However, in relation to Angola, he said that the important issue is to know “how to develop cooperation and what new forms or resources can be used”.
He considered it important that the themes be discussed, in order to establish an economic cooperation of equals, which, personally, he would like to be better.
“As the talks we had today showed, there are several fields in which we can cooperate, because we can only face the great challenges of the future if we strengthen our cooperation”, he said.
He also mentioned the fact that Angola is also an important partner when it comes to stability and security on the continent.
