Africa-Press – Angola. Athlete Adilson João, from Núcleo Giga de Luanda, this morning beat Adilson do Rosário, in a match for the 8th round of the Cabeto Cup in chess, taking place in Malanje, being one step away from the title.

With this victory, the player remains isolated in the league table with 6.5 points, needing only a draw to win the title, which could happen this afternoon, at the end of the 9th and last round of the championship.

To do so, he will face the athlete Gelson Arão, from the Luanda Military Team, a player apparently within his reach and with no chance of winning the trophy since he occupies the 11th position, with only 3.5 points.

In the fight for the cup, there are also the athletes Agostinho Diogo (champion in title), Kinavuidi Keto, Avelino Fernandes, Domingos Mateus and Santos Puri, all with 5.5 points, a feat that only materializes with a victory of theirs and defeat of Adilson João .

The competition has the participation of 15 athletes from the provinces of Luanda, Benguela, Cuanza sul and Malanje.

From 16:00 onwards, the 9th round will oppose the athletes:
