Africa-Press – Angola. The 44th edition of the Chess Olympics starts today, in Chennai, India, the competition will take place from July 28th to August 10th.
The competition has a total of 343 teams, including the Angolan delegation, there are 187 countries competing with each other, with the legendary Grand Master of India, the first since 1988, Vishwanathan Anand, mentoring the 25 players of the house.
The competition has the seal of FIDE (Federation Internationale des Échecs) or the International Chess Federation, today, the opening ceremony takes place.
The existing conditions for the practice of the modality are a dream for any aficionado of the board game, providing accommodation, tourism plans with the right to free transport for tourists or the public that wants to attend the mega concentration.
Without China, and without Russia present, and being the host, India has a magnificent opportunity here to win gold, but the United States of America and Azerbaijan are there as strong opponents and candidates for the first place.
Angola will try to do the best, not leaving clearly as one of the favourites.
