The technical meeting of the 19th edition of the deep-sea sport fishing contest, the “Billfish Challenge”, tooke place yesterday at 7 pm at the headquarters of the Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda, with all the fishermen of the Clube Naval de Luanda ( CNL), Clube Náutico Militar (CNM) and the hosts.
The competition, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, between Barra do Kwanza (Luanda) and Dande (Bengo province), qualifies for the third wave of the World Championship, in April or May of next year, in Costa Rica.
The likely teams that can take part in the great maritime ‘battle’, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, are the following: Tá-Lah, Dragões, Lobos do Mar, Malembeiros Fishing Team, Ruiva Maluca, Veracious, SPC, Malta da Kianda, Ferramisso , All Fish and Candy Candle. The competition is disputed in the system of tagging and releasing the fish alive in the sea (tag & release). For the tournament, the organization will award the fishermen and formations that get the biggest species of Blue Marlin, Veleiro, Wahoo, Tuna and Dourado.
