Africa-Press – Angola. The executive secretary of the National Youth Council (CNJ) in Uíge, Hélio Paulo Eduardo, appealed, this Thursday, in the municipality of Quitexe, to the citizens of that locality to massively adhere to the General Census of Population and Housing/2024, scheduled for July this year.
The massive adhesion of citizens to the 2024 Census aims to provide greater assertiveness and inclusion of the Executive’s public policies, explained the person responsible during the lecture addressed to II cycle students in the municipality of Quitexe.
During his intervention in the lecture with the theme “Contribution of Youth to the success of the General Census of Population and Housing”, Hélio Paulo Eduardo said that, for the success of the process, the CNJ will continue to hold lectures, meetings and mobilization in communities.
In turn, the provincial director of the National Institute of Statistics in Uíge, Osvaldo José, said that the census is extremely important, justifying that it will allow us to know the number of inhabitants in the country (how many men, women, children and elderly people), where they live and how they live.
With this information, there can be better planning and distribution of essential services for all Angolans.
The 2024 General Population and Housing Census will be the third in the country’s history, the first being carried out in 1970, five years before Angola’s independence, while the second took place in 2014.
