Africa-Press – Angola. An agreement for agricultural transformation, by providing fertilizer granulation services adapted to Angola soil and crops, was set in Luanda between Minbos and Fertiafrica, an integral noble group subsidiary.

The strategic partnership will ensure that the explored phosphate in Angola of the Cabinda da Minbos project is processed locally, offering farmers across the country access to fertilizers easily.

Speaking to the press, after the act of signing the agreement, the Secretary of State for Agriculture and Livestock, Castro Comrade, made known that the protocol is framed in the development plan, at a time when the country has a fertilizer production and production program.

He added that this protocol will create fertilizer production capacity in the country, reducing total dependence on imported fertilizers.

‘We know of the role that fertilizers play in agricultural production, post will be phosphate products, but as the activities develop will be possible to add other elements to the manufacture,’ he said.

It also considered it to be an important and timely development for the current moment of the country to increasingly promote the production of fertilizers and corrections on national soil.

For its part, Noble Group’s strategy director Carlos Alves said that, in practical terms, it is an agreement where the company puts all its efforts on behalf of Angola’s economy.

He stated that the business group is taking its first steps in the area of agriculture, with the fertilizer unit near the Lobito corridor, which will serve as a logistics center of national expansion and, possibly exporting in a dynamic sector.

He said that, for the factory, an investment was made of around $ 18 million, allowing the creation, in total capacity, of about 300 direct jobs.

The agreement has the potential to allow Minbos to reach early production before the full completion of its Cabinda phosphate fertilizer factory, and advanced plans are underway to mine and transport the phosphatic rock to the port of Lobito in the coming months.

The partnership also provides that fertiafrica granule, test and store fertilizer products for Minbos, using phosphatic rock as the main ingredient.

With this agreement, the Benguela Unit will serve as the country’s first integrated granulation center, leveraging Minbos Cabinda Rocha to produce a range of nutritional solutions for the growing Angola agricultural base.

The parties also intend to launch a joint planning forum to explore new opportunities for regional distribution and the development of state -of -the -art fertilizer technologies, helping to shape the future of plant nutrition in subsahary Africa.
