Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Namibe, Archer hose, highlighted this Monday as a priority, for this year, the completion of the 40 kilometers of the section that connects Bibala/Caitou to the municipality of Camucuio, the project of which started in 2022.
Speaking at the 2023 end-of-year celebration ceremony, Archer Mangueira shared the prospects for 2024, at a local level, having pointed out that the road project in question is already allowing the movement of people and goods, with greater fluidity, on this section, where more than thirty vehicles circulate daily.
This work is estimated to cost US$86 million and is scheduled for completion in July of this year.
In his intervention, the governor made it known that road works are continuing in Moçâmedes and Tômbwa, with 90 kilometers already completed, out of a total of 110.
In this package, the roads in the neighborhoods of 5 de Abril, Juventude, Saco Mar, Valodia, Saidy Mingas II and part of the urban center of Moçâmedes and another in the municipality of Tômbwa have already been paved.
This project is valued at 8 billion kwanzas and is scheduled for completion this year.
He also indicated that this year the construction projects for the water network and household connections in Moçâmedes and public lighting will be completed, as well as the requalification works in Vila do Virei.
The redevelopment works in the municipality of Virei include the installation of public lighting posts, construction of sidewalks, curbs and green areas in the urban area.
Regarding central projects, the governor described as priorities the completion of the construction and equipping of the Namibe Regional Maritime Surveillance Center, the Virei and Camucuio administrative complexes, the resumption of works on the Moçâmedes-Virei, Bibala-Lola and Lucira-Rio Equimina, the start of work on the future Ornamental Rocks Development Pole, as well as the construction and equipping of the Agro-Food Quality Laboratory.
“We also have as a priority for this new year the continuity of construction of the integrated infrastructure project for the development of Namibe Bay and the Construction of the Hemodialysis Center”, highlighted the governor.
