The construction of the Luau Logistics Platform, which was this Thursday, submitted to an international public tender, in Luena, by the Angolan Cargo and Logistics Regulatory Agency (ARCCLA), absorbs US$17.4 million, according to information. obtained at the launch of the tender.

As part of the tender, the contract is granted under construction, management, operation and maintenance for a period of 30 to 50 years, and must be located in an area of ​​200 hectares, according to the figures provided to our report.

Of the global amount, five million will be invested in the construction and acquisition of equipment for controlled temperature loads, more than three million in a fuel terminal and nine million in the construction and acquisition of equipment for the operation of the ore terminal.

The platform will have several areas, such as industry (grain milling, prefabricated concrete), tourism and hotels, livestock, forestry and mineral resources.

The complex includes ambient temperature warehouses with an initial capacity of 583 tons, which may be classified as a Customs Warehouse, as well as an administrative area with services from the Economic, Migration and Foreigners and General Tax Administration services.

Strategy And Integration
The Secretary of State for Land Transport, Jorge Bengue, who participated in the launch of the tender, declared that the Government’s decision to build a network of logistics platforms in strategic areas, promotes growth and will facilitate storage, transport and distribution of products to the domestic and foreign markets.

“We are witnessing the launch of the international public tender for one of the most important logistics platforms in our country, following up on the Ministry of Transport’s program which establishes that, by the end of this year, Angola will have at least six logistical interfaces for excellence,” he said.

Speaking, the governor of Moxico, Gonçalves Muandumba, highlighted the importance of the Luau Logistics Platform, as it is an attraction factor for international trade.

“Due to the geostrategic relevance of the infrastructure and the fact that countries in the region do not have maritime borders, the Luau Logistics Platform, supported by the Benguela Railway and the Port of Lobito, will play a decisive role”, he considered. the ruler.

Gonçalves Muandumba appealed to national and foreign businessmen to invest in this important economic venture to leverage the economic development of Angola and neighboring countries.
