Africa-Press – Angola. Angola’s ambassador to the United States of America, Agostinho Van-Dúnem, participated in a reception to celebrate National Independence Day in Houston last Friday.
According to a statement sent, the event, organized by the Consulate General of Angola in Houston last Friday, was attended by local authorities, members of Congress, diplomats and the local Angolan community.
On the occasion, the Consul General of Angola in Houston, Ana Paula do Nascimento, gave a speech in which she highlighted the history of National Independence, remembered figures such as the former President of the Republic, Agostinho Neto, and highlighted the advances in the country’s infrastructure with the support of the USA.
Furthermore, the diplomat also mentioned the future visit of the President of the United States of America (USA), Joe Biden, to Angola, and the 17th US-Africa Business Summit as signs of the strong cooperation between the two countries.
