Africa-Press – Angola. The Consulate General of Angola in Istanbul, Turkey, organized on Saturday a free consular registration session for national citizens residing in the areas under its jurisdiction, says a press release.
The note indicates that the event took place on the sidelines of the early celebration of Family Day with children from the Angolan diaspora, in Istanbul, in the company of their parents.
According to the document, many members of the Angolan diaspora, residing in the areas under the jurisdiction of the Consulate-General, are currently in an irregular migratory situation.
During the early Christmas celebration, the consul general, Colense Sebastião de Sousa, distributed toys to Angolan children from various neighborhoods in Istanbul and to others of Turkish nationality, whose parents work for the Consulate.
After sharing the cake with the children, Colense de Sousa told those present that the activity aimed to bring the community and families together, in the Christmas and New Year spirit, as a moment of sharing, unity, and solidarity.
The activity was carried out close to the residential area of the vast majority of Angolan diaspora, in Istanbul, and was also attended by resident students.
