Africa-Press – Angola. The 5th year student at the Faculty of Medicine, Ana Beatriz Marco Dias, was honored this Tuesday by the Government of Huambo, for being among the five best students in the country, in the 10th edition of the Palanca Negra award.
In an act guided by the governor of the province, Lotti Nolika, the student and current vice-president of the Faculty of Medicine of the José Eduardo dos Santos University (UJES) received, among other incentives, a laptop computer and a certificate of merit.
On the occasion, Governor Lotti Nolika said that the award is a source of pride for Huambo, as it demonstrates the strong academic potential of this region of the Central Plateau.
He asked for more commitment in the challenges outlined for the future, so that more students from the province follow the good academic example demonstrated.
In turn, he thanked the gesture of the Government of the province of Huambo, when referring to the award as a result of the commitment shown throughout the academic path.
The award, whose gala took place on the third of this month, distinguished, among others, reference figures of 2022, in various areas, for their commitment in the sectors of activity.
These are categories related to governance, politics, media, sport and infrastructure.
The gala also honored Mário Pinto de Andrade, Mfulupinga Nlando Victor and Almerindo Jaka Jamba.
The Gala Palanca Negra has the particularity of recognizing the merit and excellence of people, without regard to factors such as age, skin color, race, gender or party color.
The 9th edition, which took place in 2022, recognized figures such as Dom Anastácio Kahango, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of the province of Luanda, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Filipe Zau, among others.
