Africa-Press – Angola. The Caconda agricultural cooperative “Kuata oko Lukuene”, which benefited from financing of 47 million kwanzas under the economic relief aid adopted in 2020, to mitigate the effects of the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, foresees a harvest of more than 30 tons of maize in the 2021/2022 agricultural season, which runs until August.

The president of the cooperative, Miguel Capenda, announced the screening to the press, in that municipality, adding that, in addition to the production of maize, the financing allowed the expansion of the areas where beans, manioc and other products are grown.

Miguel Capenda informed that the 253 members of the cooperative produce collectively and on individual plots, where high harvests of maize, beans and cassava are expected.

The operations take place on a plot of 33.29 hectares, located in the sector of Caluvombolo, commune of Gungui, where the cooperative also has a warehouse, office, an industrial park with three mills for processing maize, five teams of oxen and breeding cows.

“On May 29, 2021, we received funding of 48,717,500 kwanzas, which is stimulating and intensifying agricultural production, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of families and increasing our income”, said Miguel Capenda. to illustrate the vitality of “Kuata oko Lukuene” operations.
