Cooperatives Receive Boat Engines

Africa-Press – Angola. On Thursday, around four artisanal fishing cooperatives received eight boat engines in Caxito, municipality of Barra do Dande, Bengo province, to facilitate the development of fishing activities in the region. The delivery of the equipment was the responsibility of the provincial governor of Bengo, Maria Antónia Nelumba, who assured the Angolan government of its commitment to continue supporting, above all, young people in this sector, with a view to creating more jobs and generating income.

“We have to support fishermen in our region to reduce unemployment in the municipality of Barra do Dande. For this reason, cooperatives must be organized and obtain taxpayer numbers. We have to know who is who,” she warned.

The cooperatives, said the governor, must have a culture of paying their dues, so that the monthly payment is transferred to the municipality, through the General Tax Administration (AGT) account.
