A new price reduction of 1.31 percent was seen in the sale of basic food products in the main supermarket chains and informal markets in the Angolan capital, from the first to the second week of the current month, essentially influenced by the behavior of the cost of horse mackerel, bombó fuba and spaghetti pasta.

In general terms, the price variation of basic food products in the informal market and commercial establishments showed a reduction of 0.60 percent, with greater price variations in products such as salt being reported in the main commercial network (commercial establishments). iodized, with 5.32%, soap, with 2.11%, and chicken thigh, with 1.29%.

In the secondary network (informal market), the biggest price changes occurred in the Kifica (3.16 percent), Asa Branca (1.71%) and Kwanzas (1.66%) markets. The products that contributed to the price reduction in commercial establishments were horse mackerel, with 11.28 percent, fuba de bombó, with 8.16%, and spaghetti pasta, with 5.00%. The largest price changes in the period in question were recorded in the Intermarket supermarket chain, with 5.61 percent, Fresmart (2.97%) and Casa dos Frescos (2.43%). On the other hand, there was a price reduction in Kero, in the order of 11.65%, Kibabo (4.60%) and Martal (3.26%).

Meanwhile, in the informal markets there was an acceleration of prices in the products of the basic basket, of 0.25 percent, and the biggest variations were verified in the markets of Kifica (3.16%), Asa Branca (1.71%) and Kwanzas (1.66%). The Congolese markets, with 2.59 percent, Kikolo, with 1.71%, and Correios, with 1.56%, are the places where the cost fell. In general terms, the products that most contributed to this rise were tomatoes, with 5.15%, ordinary rice, with 3.48%, and bread, with 2.83 percent.
