Credit to the Non-Financial Sector Grows 15.9% in Angola

Africa-Press – Angola. Gross credit to the non-financial sector in Angola amounted to 8.9 billion kwanzas, in November 2025, an increase of around Kz 1.2 billion (15.9%), compared to the same period last year.

According to a note from the National Bank of Angola (BNA) arriving today, of the gross value, 86.1% represents the debt of the private sector and 13.9% of the public sector.

The stock of credit to the economy, in national currency, reached 7.2 billion kwanzas, registering an increase of 1.3 billion kwanzas (21.1%) compared to the same period last year and Kz 1.2 billion (20.0%) compared to the month of December 2024.

Private sector debt increased by 819.5 billion kwanzas, rising from kz 6.9 billion in November 2024 to 7.7 billion kwanzas in November 2025.

In turn, the debt of private non-financial companies was six billion (9.4% more) and that of individuals was 1.7 billion kwanzas (21.8% more).

According to the Central Bank, gross credit directed to the real sector of the economy totaled 1.9 billion kwanzas, an increase of 280.8 billion (17.6%) compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The variation was mainly driven by the increase in resources made available to the extractive industry subsector, which had an increase in value of 224.5 billion kwanzas.

Meanwhile, total credit granted to promote the real sector reached 1.3 billion kwanzas, representing 71.5% of the total credit available to the sector and 15.1% of the banking sector’s gross credit portfolio.

Compared to the same period last year, the note states, there was an increase of 295 billion kwanzas (28.1%), with emphasis on the financing of projects in the manufacturing industry subsector, which registered an increase of 138.6 billion kwanzas (23.1%).

In terms of subsectors of economic activity, manufacturing industries benefited from 795.9 billion kwanzas, corresponding to 42.3% of the credit stock, of which 738.3 billion (92.8%) were granted under BNA Notice No. 10/24.

Seven hundred and 34 billion kwanzas were allocated to the extractive industries, equivalent to 39% of the credit stock, of which 360.5 billion kwanzas (49.11%) were allocated under the Notices on the granting of credit to the real sector.

The subsector of agriculture, animal production, hunting, forestry and fishing received Kz 350.8 billion, representing 18.7% of the credit stock, of which 246.4 billion kwanzas (70.2%) were granted under the BNA Notices referring to the promotion of credit to the real sector.
