Africa-Press – Angola. Citizens in Ndalatando, capital of Cuanza-Norte, hope that the new governor, João Diogo Gaspar, has a strategic vision to catapult the development of the province, boosting the productive sector and new employment opportunities.

Speaking this Friday, the residents hope that their work philosophy will contribute to the development of the province and improve the quality of life of the population.

Pedro Tacula, 59 years old, civil servant, hopes that the new governor will have proximity governance, in order to implement actions that meet the needs of the communities.

For her part, Madalena Domingos, 35 years old, businessman, wants priority to be given to the rehabilitation of secondary and tertiary roads to promote agricultural production and the flow of products.

Mário Mendes wants there to be greater interaction with the population in order to learn about their desires and concerns and, within the scope of his governance policy, outline priorities.

The pastor of the Messianic church in Cuanza-Norte, Reverend Manuel João, hopes that the new governor will continue the projects outlined by the previous one and have a governing philosophy in favor of the progress of the province and improving the quality of life of its inhabitants.

Sworn in on Friday by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, for the position of governor of Cuanza-Norte, João Diogo Gaspar is the 12th to lead the province’s destinies, since 1976.

Born on August 28, 1983, economist João Diogo Gaspar replaces Pedro Makita Armando Júlia.

After taking office, at the Presidential Palace, the leader pointed to the education, health and agriculture sectors as those that will deserve special attention.

Speaking to the press about what can be expected from his performance in his new role, he said he had received specific guidelines that aim to develop the province, essentially, in the education, health and agriculture sectors.

He emphasized that the province has “enormous” potential from an agricultural point of view and with a view to economic diversification, it will do everything to contribute to the increase in national production.

On the other hand, he continued, he will continue to work with the population so that we can all develop the province of Cuanza-Norte together.

In turn, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, stressed that he had decided to invest in a young team, who still has a long way to go and a long way to go.

“We believe in its capabilities, the challenge is great, it is a first experience in this position, but we are confident that it will help to develop that part of the national territory, which has good people and great potential, therefore we wish you success in the performance of the new mission”, he concluded.

He served, among others, as deputy for the Malanje provincial circle and as coordinator of the MPLA monitoring group in the provinces of Namibe and Cuanza-Norte, having been part of the 5th Commission of the National Assembly, which is responsible for Economy and Finance.

João Gaspar is also a university professor and was coordinator of the Malanje Young Entrepreneurs Forum, a province in which he also served as delegate of the Angola-China Chamber of Commerce, as well as director of a football club.
