Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Cuba have solid cooperation in the political, diplomatic, health and education fields, highlighted this Thursday, the ambassador of the Caribbean country Óscar Gonzalez.
During a visit he made, the ambassador explained that there is a “great” desire on the part of both governments to work to strengthen trade relations, which he considers to be still little behind.
Regarding the cooperation agenda between the two countries, he said that reinforcement in the areas of health, education, construction, culture, tourism, sport, as well as defense and security is on the cards.
Regarding the visit to the country’s only news agency, the diplomat said that it served to get to know this media outlet, its management and work team, due to the fact that there is a history of cooperation between the Cuban embassy as well as Prensa Latina, its Cuban counterpart.
“These relations are good, I hope they are maintained and progress as much as possible, given the current conditions in both Angola and Cuba”.
Cuba has been a strategic partner of Angola since Independence in 1975. It has trained many staff and aims for greater involvement in economic cooperation.
Many young Angolans are in Cuba for training in various areas, such as medicine, engineering, telecommunications and others.
