Africa-Press – Angola. The municipal inspection department of Cuvango, southern Huíla province, incinerated this Saturday, in the district, several food products with expired expiry dates.

The seizure of the respective products is the result of an inspection work carried out jointly with the local Integrated Development Office, National Police, Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) and Firefighters, in an action carried out from the 15th to the 24th of this month in some commercial establishments tutored by foreigners, above all.

According to the local director of inspection, Júnior Ntyamba, 12 bags of wheat flour weighing between 25 and 300 kg, seven bags of maize meal, as well as 50 packages of mineral water, 68 units of chocolate, among other items unfit for consumption, were incinerated. human.

On the occasion, the person in charge discouraged merchants from insisting on selling expired products, as it constitutes an attack on public health, in addition to the risk of committing crimes.

With an estimated population of 103,162 inhabitants, the municipality is 350 kilometers east of Lubango.
