Africa-Press – Angola. The fourth edition of the Tour of Angola by Bicycle, which will take place from 23 October to 4 November, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence, will feature the participation of cyclists from Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP). In addition to the internationalisation of the competition, which has already become a national landmark, the Angolan Cycling Federation (FACI) intends to transform the 50th anniversary of Dipanda into a celebration on a national scale.
From an organisational point of view, FACI is already working to provide the best conditions for the invited countries, as well as the provincial delegations that will participate in the event. The president of the board of directors of the sport’s rector in the country, Cremilde Rangel, stated that FACI will do its utmost to organise the event so that cyclists, both national and foreign, will never forget the competition.“In this edition, we will have cyclists from Portuguese-speaking African countries, with the aim of making the race more competitive. We are preparing the competition in detail, taking into account the number of invited countries. We will send invitations to Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe”, assured a FACI official.
Back in Angola, Cremilde Rangel said, it will be a real party, since the country celebrates the 50th anniversary of its National Independence on November 11th this year.
“We will have the presence of more than 100 athletes, so Angolan runners must be well prepared, because the Tour of Angola promises to be electrifying from start to finish”, she stressed.
