Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Cyprus manifested themselves this Monday, in Rome (Italy), interested in the preservation of sovereignty, cooperation in development and strengthening of relations as the best way to promote activities, in a meeting in which the parties highlighted the advantages of multilateralism.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Ioannis Kasoulides, on a visit to Italy, held a meeting with the ambassadors accredited to Cyprus, residing in Rome.
Collaboration, exchange of experiences and opportunities, the reaffirmation of everyone defending sovereignty, democracy and progress among peoples were also issues addressed at the meeting.
Ambassador Fátima Jardim, on behalf of the Government of Angola, thanked the invitation and informed those present about the next elections scheduled in the country in August.
The meeting also reaffirmed the desire to strengthen cooperation and collaboration between the Republic of Cyprus and Angola, particularly in the fields of Tourism, trade, regional programs and the Development of the African Agenda.
The Cyprus Foreign Minister reiterated his interest in visiting Africa and getting to know Angola, a country he considered an example on the continent in terms of building democracy, peace, unity, progress and as a participant in SADC’s integration and development.
