Africa-Press – Angola. Five teams from the provinces of Bengo, Cuanza-Sul, Malanje, Uíge and Luanda will compete, from the 27th to the 29th of January, in Caxito, province of Bengo, in a male youth handball tournament, to celebrate the anniversary of the municipality of Dande which takes place on the 27th of this month.
Promoted by the Provincial Handball Association of Bengo, in partnership with the Municipal Administration of Dande, the competition will feature teams from Ara da Gabela, Cuanza-Sul, Clube Renascimento (Uíge), Obra Social da Maxinde (Malanje), Interclube de Angola (Luanda) and Mandjesport Clube, from Bengo.
The tournament will take place in an all-against-all format, informed the president of the Bengo Provincial Handball Association, Mandjel Zua.
With this initiative, the association aims to give greater visibility to male youth handball and boost the sport at the level of the province of Bengo.
This year, the Bengo Provincial Handball Association wants to reactivate the “handball everywhere” project, which aims to increase the number of players and promote a taste for practicing the sport in the six municipalities of the province.
According to the head of the association, the Mandjesport Clube team will represent the province of Bengo in the 24th edition of the Angola Handball Cup, for senior women, which starts in February.
