David and Ernestina dominate in the 47 years of “Dipanda”

Africa-Press – Angola. Interclube’s long-distance runners, David Elias in men’s, and Ernestina Paulino (women’s), won, on Friday (11), in the city of Lubango, province of Huíla, the 8 kilometer road athletics race, which aimed to mark the 47th anniversary of Dipanda Day, marked yesterday.

David Elias crossed the line with a time of 25 minutes, 15 seconds and 30 tenths, followed by Petro de Luanda runner Manuel Dumbo, with a time of 25 minutes, 18 seconds and 97 tenths. Jeremias Candumbo, from Interclube, was content with third position after finishing in 25 minutes, 23 seconds and 21 tenths.

In the women’s sector, the Interclube runner, Ernestina Paulino, claimed the primacy by triumphing in the same distance with the mark of 29 minutes, 17 seconds and 70 tenths, followed by the teammate Alda Paulo, with the time of 31 minutes, 54 seconds and 12 tenths. In third place was the long-distance runner of Petro de Luanda, Joana Haleca, timing the record of 32 minutes, 15 seconds and 87 tenths.

For the Paralympics class, the men’s triumph smiled at Quito José Augusto, in the T20 category, with 30 minutes, 57 seconds and 17 tenths. While in female, the victory went to Dofília Leonardo (T20), with 36 minutes, 59 seconds and 18 tenths. Fonseca Tchieva, by setting a time of 30 min16sec38 tenths, was the winner in the men’s popular category.

Fifty-six athletes participated in the competition, including federates, namely Petro de Luanda, Inter do Lubango, Interclube, Clube Ferroviário da Huíla, Clube Desportivo da Huíla, 1o de Agosto, Benfica do Lubango, Organizações Santos Lda, New Corridors Missionária São Pio, Project Okuhateka, popular and Paralympics.

The race as part of the festivities of the 47th anniversary of the proclamation of National Independence had as its starting and finishing shot in the Gabriel Calofe square in front of the headquarters of the MPLA provincial Committee.
