Africa-Press – Angola. The secretary general of the Democratic Bloc, Muata Sebastião, said in the city of Uíge, the importance of implementing local authorities in the country, in order to improve the provision of services to the local population.
Muata Sebastião was speaking on the sidelines of the provincial assembly of the Bloco Democrático in Uíge, which elected the provincial secretary and his deputy in Uíge, Diavova dos Santos and Sebastião Garcia, respectively.
He referred that the implementation of local authorities, where those responsible will be elected by the people, could help in improving the social conditions of the population.
The politician explained that the local authorities will grant administrative and financial autonomy to the mayor, to develop actions in favor of his area of action.
As a result, he said that the Democratic Block will continue to support the process of implementing municipal elections in all municipalities in the country.
Within the framework of the municipal process, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, recently created the Interministerial Commission for the Preparation and Implementation of the Integrated Plan for the Institutionalization of Local Authorities.
As for the Democratic Block conference, with the participation of 100 delegates, it elected the secretary of the provincial council and president of the party’s jurisdiction and inspection in this region.
