Africa-Press – Angola. The point guard Souleyman Diabaté and the winger Rigoberto Mendonza, on Thursday joined Petro de Luanda team in Pretoria, South Africa, who will be playing in the final phase of the Basketball African League (BAL) from the 6th to the 14th of te current month.
With a full squad, Petro de Luanda players will train this Thursday at the SunBeat Arena. It will focus mainly on adapting to the location and the low temperatures currently being recorded in Pretoria.
In the quarter-finals debut, the defending champions will face APR from Rwanda on Saturday (7), at 3 pm.
Childe Dundão, Gerson Domingos, Eduardo Simão, Kendrick Ray, Samkelo Cele, Glofate Buiamba, Cléusio Castro, Aboubakar Gakou, Yanick Moreira, Diabaté and Mendonza, make up the Angolan squad to the competition.
It is worth noting that a young player from the National Basketball Association (NBA) academy will also join the team.
