Africa-Press – Angola. Bilateral cooperation between the republics of Angola and Turkmenistan was under analysis Tuesday (13), in New York (USA), during a meeting between the permanent representatives of the two countries at the United Nations.
The fact was made public this Thursday in a note from the Permanent Mission of Angola to the United Nations, referring that during the meeting between ambassador Francisco José da Cruz and his counterpart Aksoltan Ataeva, the need for greater interaction between the two countries within the scope of the UN agenda.
He adds that the meeting was characterized by a constructive exchange of views in which both parties highlighted the close alignment of their foreign policy positions and priorities.
They also discussed the various initiatives related to preventive diplomacy, peace and security, against terrorism, climate change and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, as well as the importance of the participation of young people and women in these processes.
Sharing experiences in the aforementioned areas was recognized as crucial, and both parties expressed their willingness to strengthen ties and establish direct channels of communication between their respective governments, which would facilitate the exchange of information, the coordination of actions on international platforms and the development of joint initiatives.
Similarly, the diplomats converged on the establishment of a regular dialogue, which they consider essential to ensure more effective bilateral cooperation.
The diplomats of the two countries also analyzed the possibility of organizing visits and bilateral meetings at different levels.
The ambassadors reiterated their commitment to mutual support for candidates and initiatives of mutual interest, having emphasized the importance of cooperation to achieve shared priorities and deepen multilateral partnerships.
