Economic operators return more than Kz 14 million to consumers

Africa-Press – Angola. Fourteen million 685 thousand kwanzas is the amount that companies in the construction, banking and commerce sectors returned to 55 consumers in Malanje, during the last year, for violating their rights.

The information was provided Monday, by the head of Provincial Services of the National Institute for Consumer Protection (INADEC), Carlos Correia, stating that the amounts in question resulted from complaints intermediated by the institution.

He pointed out the poor provision of civil construction services, the sale of deteriorated products and those in poor condition, as well as the slow execution of banking services as the main infractions recorded.

The person responsible considered that consumers’ awareness of their rights is growing in the province, as a result of the lectures that INADEC has promoted, which is why many complaints have been registered.

Meanwhile, Carlos Correia said that the Institute has been promoting courses on Food Hygiene and Safety and plans to provide training in the field of Customer Service for Excellence in the coming days, aimed at economic operators.

He highlighted the level of adherence by companies to INADEC’s complaint books, an extremely important instrument where consumers express their concerns.

The National Institute for Consumer Protection is a public entity whose mission is to promote the policy of safeguarding consumer rights, coordinate and execute measures aimed at protection, information and education.
