ENNA revenue increases by 69% in 2022

Africa-Press – Angola. Close to seven billion kwanzas was the amount raised by the National Air Navigation Company (ENNA EP), during the financial year of 2022, which represents an increase of about 69 percent, compared to the same period (2021) .

According to the chairman of the Board of Directors of ENNA, Manuel Agostinho Júnior, the revenue achieved, through the payment of fees on flights and other services, results from the registration of around 49,000 air movements, in the period under review (2022).

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the celebration of the fourth anniversary of the respective company, to be marked on 1 July, the manager considered the result achieved so far positive, despite being below the desired level.

He referred that, from 2019 to the first quarter of 2023, ENNA-EP registered a total of 154 thousand 932 air movements, a result that was significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

On the occasion, he said that the company’s main challenge is, essentially, the training of staff, aiming to respond to the challenges that the market imposes.

According to the manager, the company has 540 workers, of which 115 are air traffic controllers, a number that needs to be doubled.

As for the restructuring of the company, the PCA referred that, currently, the modernization and resizing program of ENNA is being elaborated, with a view to concluding the air navigation system project.

For his part, the Minister of Transport, Ricardo de Abreu, said that the country has every possibility of being one of the references of the African continent, in particular, and of the world, in general, taking into account the investment that is being made. in the construction of infrastructures to the size of the world market.

Therefore, he called for the engagement of all professionals to achieve the objectives set.

Tutored by the Ministry of Transport, ENNA-EP aims to provide a public air navigation service based on air traffic control, aeronautical information, operation and management of communication, navigation and surveillance systems and equipment.

This company’s purposes also include ensuring safety and efficiency in the management of air navigation services in the space under Angola’s jurisdiction.

Created on July 1, 2019, through Presidential Decree 206/2019, ENNA-EP results from the spin-off of the National Company for the Operation of Airports and Air Navigation (ENANA-EP).

The respective separation also gave rise to the emergence of the National Airport Management Society (SGA).

The split process is in line with the recommendations of international regulatory bodies, which advised the country to separate airport management from airspace management.
