Africa-Press – Angola. The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) for the Operational and Development area, General Artur Carlos dos Santos Vinema, said (Friday) that the Superior War College has established itself as an institution seriously committed to the quality of training.

The general was speaking at the closing ceremony of a course at the military teaching institution, located in the municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi, which was attended by high-ranking members of the armed forces and the National Police.

According to the Joint Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the said school is committed to quality and efficiency in the training and qualification of national staff and those of some countries in the region, within the framework of bilateral cooperation.

However, he recognized the difficulties that the educational institution faces, particularly in terms of infrastructure capable of meeting demand, as well as means of transport, as a result of the country’s situation.

Despite this aspect, continued the general, there is a desire to transform the Higher School into an important forum for military research and more capable of interpreting and materializing with high efficiency the guidelines of the Higher Command on Teaching in the Armed Forces.

He also praised the role played by teaching staff in training general officers, admirals, commissioners, among others, whose learning has been satisfactorily reflected in their daily practice.

For his part, the second commander of the Superior War School, Brigadier André Chilamba Memo, said he believed that the work carried out by the professors would contribute to the development of the various military areas and the National Police.

With the participation of more than 200 students from the three branches of the FAAforces, namely the Army, Navy and Air Force, the courses also had personnel from the National Police and from neighboring countries, such as the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.

During the year, they attended the course on Organization and Moral and Psychological Assurance, Promotion to Senior Officer, Portuguese Language, Strategy and Self-Operation, Superior Command of Directorate and General Staff Command.

The Superior School of War has existed for 31 years.
